I want to thank you for subscribing, and now reading, my newsletter! I would be grateful if you would click on a link (any link will do). This tells Gmail and other programs that my emails are not spam. FYI - none of my links are affiliate links.

If you use any new AI tool and have an opinion about it (good or bad), please let me know by replying to this email.

1. Get Leads with Real Intel

This tool is backed by Y Combinator so I have high hopes. There are a bunch of tools available that will find you leads. This one, however, gets leads from a lot of different sources including LinkedIn, Apolloa, Salesforce, ContactOut, Github, and more.

But that’s not the great part. Persona will also help you get verified emails, the tech stacks they use, competitor analyses, recent news, and more. For some marketers this will be invaluable. Currently, they’re running a 50% off sale for 3 months on Product Hunt. Try for free.

This looks pretty good. For some businesses, this could be a game changer for getting more appointments/zoom calls. Of course, the next iteration will likely have the AI make the contact and set up the call. Another opportunity would be for a marketing company to use this SaaS to do just that … and get paid per appointment set.

2. AI Product Validation

We’ve all been there. You have this great idea for a product or service but you hate to spend all the money needed to bring it to market because you’re just not 100% sure it’s a winner. The obvious solution is to validate the product or service before bringing it to market, but that is easier said than done.

Instead of asking random people what they think of your business idea, with Prelaunch you can find out if there is demand for your product, how much people are willing to pay, and what real consumers think about it.

Your future customers will leave a small deposit ($10-$20) to reserve your product, which earns them a discount when you launch.

If someone is willing to put down some cash, it’s a pretty sure sign they will buy your product. If enough people are willing to do it, then you’ve got a winner! I really like the idea. No price is provided so I suspect it’s a high ticket item but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. How could this be done cheaper (Kickstarter?)?

3. AI Pin

In case you haven’t heard of it before, AI Pin is a wearable - a small device that you pin to your clothing. It’s controlled via voice and touch. They are now shipping.

It can make calls, send messages, answer your questions, capture moments, take notes, play music, interpret, navigate, and manage your digital world. In short, it’s your-always-there assistant. Starts at $699.

It does not have a video screen. Therefore I don’t see this replacing your phone. And is it really worth carrying if you have to carry your phone, which can do all those things? I’m just not sure.

One difference is that because you are wearing it, it can always be videoing your surroundings (while with a phone you have to whip it out and start recording). I’m not sure how valuable that is though.

They are using their own operating system (Cosmos) so perhaps it’ll work better not being based on Android or iOS? Eventually, I would expect Android and iOS to have most, if not all, of these capabilities built in. Someone spent a lot of money to develop this so hopefully we’ll see the appeal once users start using them.

4. My AI SaaS Project

As you may recall, I’m creating a SaaS for a niche industry to follow up with customers using AI. Currently, it emails customers and replies to emails. The problem is that it still sounds like AI - not a person.

So fairly cheaply, anyone could create the software that we’ve created so far. The real value will be garnered by training the AI how to respond in a way that gets results for the business owner. I believe this requires teaching the AI about pain points in this niche, overcoming objections in this niche, etc. Additionally, its messages should be indistinguishable from that of a human.

So this model could be replicated for a variety of niches, but the AI would need to be trained differently for each niche.

In the News…

  1. Former OpenAI board member calls for audit of top AI companies. She says companies should share, among other things, how they are managing risk.

  2.  Amazon launches Maestro in beta. It’s an AI tool for their music platform.
